Flare fittings are manufactured especially with hazardous liquids and gasses in mind. They can be assembled and disassembles numerous times. For improved resistance to mechanical vibration, the Long Flare Nut may be used.

When used with the appropriate tubing they can withstand high pressures, usually the type of pipe used rather than the flare fitting itself determines the pressures. Use the table below as a guide ONLY for the working pressures of flare fittings.

Assembly
1. Slide the nut tapered end first onto the tubing
2. Using a 45 degree flaring tool, flare the end of the tube until the flare sits inside the nut. On thin wall tube, a double flare is recommended to prevent pinch off.
3. Assemble fitting to body and tighten nut to hand tight
4. Using a wrench tighten the nut until a leak proof metal joint is achieved. To avoid premature failure of the fitting, do not over tighten.
