Nylon Oil is a lubricant modified cast PA6C which is particularly suitable for applications involving dry running. The uniform distribution of lubricant over the whole cross-section achieved with Nylon Oil guarantees a constant sliding and wear behavior throughout the whole service life.

Key features:

  • High mechanical strength & toughness
  • Self lubricating
  • Excellent wear resistance
  • Low coefficient of friction
  • Excellent sliding properties
  • Good for dry running conditions

  • Typical Applications:
  • Bearings
  • Bushes
  • Wear Pads
  • Rollers & Sheaves
  • Gears & Sprockets

  • Turning
  • Use high rake polished aluminum tips or high-speed steel with 10 degree front rake and 10-20 degree top rake.

  • Milling
  • Uncoated Aluminum cutters give best results.

  • Drilling
  • Uncoated high-speed steel drills are suitable for most applications.

  • General Notes:
Nylons are semi-crystalline polymers that are extremely tough with good all-round mechanical properties.
The internal lubricant allows for constant lubrication throughout its life cycle.
Nylon's absorb moisture, additional running clearance needs to be allowed for when designing parts.
Medium feeds and speeds are recommended.
Keep swarf clear while machining, avoid heat build up.
Larger parts need to be roughed out and left for 24-48 hours to allow stress relieving to occur prior to finishing.
The swarf can be very tough, take care when removing.
Do not use tooling that has been used to machine steel or other non-ferrous metals.
The rods are manufactured slightly oversize to allow for machining down to the specified size
